Local CPA and community volunteer pledges responsible stewardship, stronger engagement and parents/student and staff-centred leadership

ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — September 28, 2026 — Tejvir Pandher has announced his campaign for election as a trustee on the Abbotsford Board of Education, offering voters a local, educated and experienced voice focused on better educational outcomes, responsible use of public resources and strong community partnerships.

Pandher has lived in Abbotsford for nearly three decades. After graduating from the Mission School District, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the Fraser Valley, majoring in accounting and minoring in finance, and later earned the Chartered Professional Accountant designation. His experience spans accounting, public practice, management of a family business and more than a decade in the media industry.

Raised by parents who were both teachers, he learned the value and importance of education from an early age. Pandher views education as both a lifelong priority and a foundation for opportunity. His community service has included the Abbotsford District Literacy Plan Committee, Abbotsford Canada Day Celebration Committee, Cultural and Sports Organizations, and University Clubs. He currently serves as Vice-President of the Fraser Valley Chartered Professional Accountants Association’s board.

“Abbotsford’s students deserve safe, welcoming schools, strong learning opportunities and leadership that plans responsibly for a growing community,” said Pandher. “I am running to bring practical financial oversight, transparent decision-making and a collaborative approach to the Board of Education.”

Pandher’s platform aligns with the Abbotsford School District’s 2024–2028 strategic pillars—Student Success, Optimized Resources, Engaging Opportunities and Progressive Workforce—and emphasizes measurable results, public accountability and sustained advocacy for the needs of local students and staff.

Campaign Priorities

• Strengthen parent advisory committee engagement, transparency and accountability.
• Advance student well-being, mental-health supports and services for students with diverse abilities.
• Promote safe, respectful and inclusive schools.
• Advocate for sustainable operating, infrastructure and recreation funding that keeps pace with enrolment and community growth.
• Build productive partnerships across civic, provincial and federal governments.
• Support staff recruitment and retention, including collaboration with post-secondary institutions to expand pathways into education careers and advocacy for competitive compensation.

With his background in accounting & finance, communications and community service, Pandher says he will approach trustee decisions with careful analysis, open dialogue and a commitment to the long-term well-being of the district.
