(Abbotsford, BC) For more than 40 years, Berry Fest has continued to grow from a small community gathering into a festival accommodating thousands of people. At its heart are the berries that earned Abbotsford its reputation as the Berry Capital of Canada. More than just a seasonal crop, they represent Abbotsford’s rich farming heritage and the local farmers who produce some of the best berries in the world.
Trading traffic for pie contests, Historic Downtown Abbotsford comes alive with local vendors, food trucks, family-friendly activities, live entertainment and plenty of local berries. On Saturday, July 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the all-ages event returns for another jam-packed day of summer fun.
New activities include a Cooldown Corridor, Reptile Guy, Rock Wall, and Sports Zone. Returning activities bring Berry’s Skate Park, face painting, a photo booth, the Fun Gym Bus, a sensory-friendly calm corner, Berry’s Backyard Games, an artisan market, the Great Berry Pie Bake-Off and Pie Eating Contest with junior and adult categories, along with food trucks and a beer and wine garden.
Live performances are held at the Main Stage and Berrytainment Stage.
