ABBOTSFORD, B.C. — September 2026 — The Smiles Through Seva Foundation is preparing to welcome the community to its 4th Annual Gala, “Unmasking Futures,” presented by Ridgecrest Dairies, on September 19, 2026, in Abbotsford.

Built on the principle of seva — selfless service — the youth-led foundation is bringing the community together for an evening dedicated to creating opportunities for young people across Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley.

This year’s gala will raise funds for two areas of impact: helping address food insecurity among local children and supporting scholarships for graduating Abbotsford students who have demonstrated a meaningful commitment to seva and service in their community.

The Smiles Through Seva Foundation is led by a team of young community volunteers including Arsh Kaler, Balneet Toor, Arjun Dhaliwal, Armaan Dhaliwal, Janu Grewal, Jasan Jhajj, Herveen Padda and Samrit Ghuman.

“Unmasking Futures is about recognizing that a young person’s circumstances should never determine the opportunities available to them,” said Arsh Kaler. “Whether it is ensuring a child has food to eat or helping a graduating student take their next step in education, we want young people to know that their community believes in them.”

Since its inception, Smiles Through Seva Foundation has focused on mobilizing young people, businesses and community members around the idea that small acts of service can create lasting change.

The Foundation’s previous galas have supported organizations and initiatives serving children and families, while also creating a platform for a new generation of young volunteers to take an active role in philanthropy and community leadership.

Unmasking Futures will continue that work by bringing together hundreds of community members, business leaders, supporters and volunteers for an evening of entertainment, connection and giving.

The masquerade-themed gala will take place Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. at the Abbotsford Ag-Rec Centre.

The Foundation is inviting the community to attend, support the cause and help ensure that local children have access to food today while deserving graduating students have greater opportunities for tomorrow.
