ABBOTSFORD, BC — Longtime Abbotsford resident and technology professional Jeremy Klix has entered the race for Abbotsford City Council, with a focus on innovation, infrastructure, and community investment.
Klix has structured his campaign around four core priorities to improve daily life in Abbotsford:
– Enhancing Transit: Improving bus services and expanding active transportation networks.
– Traffic Safety: Increasing traffic safety measures and local enforcement.
– Community Spaces: Expanding recreation infrastructure and community centres.
– Green Initiatives: Growing and preserving urban forests and municipal parks.
“A council functions best when it has a diverse set of skills and experience to draw on,” says Klix. “I bring deep technical expertise and systems-based problem solving tools that will directly complement the council table.”
Klix has spent 15 years in the software and technology sector. He has analyzed, planned, and developed IT solutions across diverse industries, including agriculture, finance, government, logistics, and manufacturing.
“Civic decisions require a bold commitment,” says Klix. “When we identify a need in the community, our solutions should seek to fully maximize the return on our citizens’ investment. By fully committing to solutions, we can ensure no opportunity is left on the table for Abbotsford.”
Klix plans to use his technology background to bring an analytical approach to municipal decision-making, focusing on getting clear, tangible results for local residents.
An alumnus of the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV), Klix graduated with a Diploma of Architectural Drafting and a Bachelor of Computer Information Systems. While at UFV, he supported his peers by facilitating Supported Learning Groups and served as the president of the Computer Information Systems Student Association.
Rooted in the local community, Klix has volunteered as a youth mentor at Archway Community Services. He also serves as the moderator of the leadership team at Level Ground Mennonite Church.
